BEST OF BEAUTY

From the top skincare brands I use religiously to the best makeup products I just can’t live without, these are the beauty heroes I swear by, the ones I used in 2018 and will continue in my rotation for 2019. Also highly coveted by industry leaders and the top-rated products among the beauty community today, this is your cheat sheet to all the hottest beauty products right now. The best face masks, moisturizers and so much more, all ahead.

Glossier - The Moisturizing Moon Mask and the Haloscope Highlighter in Quartz. This cream mask works fast to hydrate and add moisture back into my skin for a bright complexion. It’s so affordable and you get a good amount for what you pay for ($22 for a 3 oz. jar). As for the Haloscope Highlighter, it goes with me everywhere. When I’m off to an impromptu event or happy hour, I apply it to the corners of my eyes and the apples of my cheeks for an instant glow. So quick and easy! With two new storefronts and counting, exciting releases, a loyal following and a long list of bestsellers, there is no question that Glossier is currently the coolest brand in the beauty game. Winning in clean beauty at an attainable price point, Glossier continues to shake up the industry. Everyone is waiting to see what they come up with for 2019, myself included.

OUAI- Love Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Chrissy Teigan’s goddess like hair? It’s all because of Jen Atkin. The celebrity hairstylist addresses all of my hair struggles with a line of products that add texture, tames frizz, and creates effortless natural looking waves. The Ouai Treatment Mask is a deep conditioner and my answer to healthy silky soft and shiny hair. The Dry Texture Foam I use to keep the shape locked in after creating flat iron waves and the Matte Pomade controls my flyaways. The products are weightless and gives me the right amount of oomph. Hair problems be gone. Good hair days do exist.

Summer Fridays - Thanks to mega beauty influencers, Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores, we have the Jet Lag Mask. I don’t travel without it, but I also use it as an overnight mask once a week. My skin is prone to intense dryness especially in the cold Winter months and this mask rescues my skin in 10 minutes. Made from chestnut extract and vitamin C, it hydrates and gives me an instant glow, leaving skin soothed, smooth and supple. Whether you want to banish tired skin or beat in-flight dryness, the solution is in this magical blue tube. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the hype is so real.

KNC Beauty - Trade dry mouth for smooth and plumped lips with the All-Natural Collagen Infused Lip Mask founded by Kristen Noel Crawley. Formulated with rose flower oil and vitamin E to deeply condition lips, it also acts as a primer, so my lipstick goes on smooth without the flaky mess. If you’re choosing Netflix over sleep or are spending way too much time on the gram well past your bedtime, the cooling Star Eye Mask is a good fix. It’s a fun one to use, but most importantly, it improves the appearance of puffy eyes and dark circles. For optimal results, I like to keep these in the fridge and usually use them before bed, so even after I remove the masks, the essence has time to work into my lips and eyes overnight. Not just a cute novelty item, this stuff works. Go on now, #lipmaskandchill why don’t you.

SKIN GYM - The Gua Sha and Face Roller are two face sculpting tools I use to define and tone my face. After about a month or so of using it three times a week for 5-10 minutes, I noticed a firmer and slimmer face. I tend to use them both as I’m masking. This way, the tools work out your face, but also penetrate the essence from your mask deeper into your skin. The Gua Sha slides up the jawline, while the face roller is used under my eyes and up my cheekbones.

LA MER- The holy grail of all moisturizers, I use this luxe and rich moisturizing creme every night for firm, radiant and luminous skin daily. Its trademarked Miracle Broth is what I like to call “the youthful potion” because it heals damaged skin and renews cells to bring back your healthiest skin ever. You know how your skin looks and feels refreshed after a full nights rest, a good workout, or after a week of healthy eating? LA MER’s Moisturizing Cream does this for me. The price is no joke, but it’s so damn effective. I like to give my skin the TLC it deserves.

Chanel - What Chanel has done for it’s iconic quilted bags and timeless tweed suits, the same attention to quality holds true in the beauty products. I am a huge fan of the LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Sheer Colour in N°60. It’s a bronzing powder that gives me a radiant and natural-looking glow. Though it comes with a mini brush, I actually use a kabuki brush for more coverage. I lightly sweep the color all over my face and also on the neck. The lightweight and non-sticky LA CREME MAIN is also a new favorite. Housed in a chic egg-shaped container, it’s a hand lotion that protects and prevents skin from chapping, keeping my hands baby soft all day long.

Lilah B. - When I need a boost of hydration during the day, I turn to Lilah B’s Aglow Facial Mist. The on-the go bottle is great for travel when I want to hydrate dry skin and set my makeup for longer wear. The mist blends well with makeup and gives me a dewy glow, plus the light lavender scent is so relaxing. Most of my face mists have generally been rose scented, but this one is a nice change.

YSL - The Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 218 Coral Remix is a barely-there nude shade that’s great for everyday. It glides on easily for a matte deep rose finish, stays on well and wears off only when I’m eating, but even then, the stain left behind has good color to it.

Alpyn Beauty - This PlantGenius Creamy Bubbling Cleanser is the newest product I’ve adopted into my morning and nightly skincare routine. Formulated with powerful plants and natural exfoliators, at night this face wash gets off all my makeup with no residue left behind. When used in the morning, it also sets my skin up for a smooth makeup application. The lather feels so luxurious and there’s a fresh citrus scent to it too. My skin is left feeling clean, refreshed and super nourished. It’s a game changer for sure.

Skinesque - The Aqua + Super Fine Mask is amazing. For when my skin is dull, tight, tired and severly dehydrated from drastic weather, the solution is in this easy 3-step Aqua Mask. Conveniently packaged with an exfoliating cleanser, hydra-essence and an anti-wrinkle sheet mask, it works to remove dirt, provide intense hydration and reduce fine lines. This mask bring life back into my skin when I need it most. The results are velvety smooth skin and an instant glow. I have to stop myself from touching my face after because it’s so velvety smooth. Think of it as a mini spa facial you can easily do yourself at home. Included in my cleanser regime is the Enzyme Washing Powder. The natural enzymes in this face wash are used as gentle exfoliators and works hard to buff away dead skin and impurities to reveal a soft and clear complexion. I have normal skin and love the results, but I hear it works even better on sensitive skin.
